Performing Arts

The Performing Arts at Bishop Luers High School are about more than taking the stage. Through music, movement, theatre, and creative expression, students develop confidence, teamwork, discipline, communication skills, and the joy that comes from working together toward a shared achievement.

Our theatre program gives students across all grade levels the opportunity to perform and work behind the scenes. The department produces three major shows each year — a fall production, winter musical, and spring performance — providing students with opportunities to explore acting, stage production, technical theatre, and more.

Show choir and music are an important part of the Bishop Luers tradition. Bishop Luers is proud to be the home of the first high school show choir invitational in the nation, beginning a tradition that continues to bring talented performers together and celebrate excellence in show choir.

Students can also explore their musical talents through band, concert choir, and instrumental music, with opportunities to perform at school, athletic, and community events throughout the year.

The arts at Bishop Luers extend beyond performance as well. Visual art courses encourage students to explore a variety of techniques and mediums, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, self-portraits, and other forms of artistic expression.

Whether performing under the lights, creating music with an ensemble, working behind the scenes, or expressing an idea through visual art, students are encouraged to discover their talents and find their creative voice. Our goal is to nurture creativity, foster confidence, build meaningful connections, and inspire a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
